Seven days free. No card needed to look around.

Twenty-seven centuries at the table

From Homer to Dostoevsky, every century has a seat.

One great writer for each age, drawn for Legamus after their oldest portraits. Tap a face to open a salon around their book.

How it works

Four steps to your first salon.

Legamus works in your phone's browser. Nothing to install; add it to your home screen if you like.

I

Choose a book

Forty-five thousand English classics in the public domain, from Plato and Marcus Aurelius to Austen, Dostoevsky and Bergson. Every book complete, chapter by chapter.

II

Open a salon

A salon is a table around one book. Press “Create a salon”, pick the book, and send the link to a friend. Whoever opens it sits at your table.

III

Read aloud together

Turn on your microphone and read; everyone follows the same line. Raise your hand to read next, and the reader passes you the page.

IV

Go deeper

Tap any line to open its loupe: what it means, how it echoes earlier pages, a question to discuss. Save the lines you want to keep.

At the table

Made to feel like one room.

●Live voices

Voices go straight from phone to phone, encrypted. Nothing is recorded. Each seat glows while its voice is heard.

Take turns

Raise your hand, and the person reading passes you the page with one tap. Mute anyone, for yourself only.

❧The whole page

Open the full chapter in book typography. The table shrinks to a small circle and follows you.

☍Friends

Add each other by reader name. See when a friend sits at a table, and join them.
